The key to effective advocacy is knowledge. From record organization to advocacy A to Z, learn tools to assist you in advocating on behalf of your child with disabilities; educating and guiding parents how to navigate the special education system, how to navigate federal and state education laws, how to prepare for IEP and 504 meetings, and how to write effective and persuasive parent letters. Training workshops and mentoring can be individualized to your needs.
The Advocate Intern Training and Mentorship Program provides an opportunity to learn how to navigate special education by receiving free hands-on training and mentorship from MFC. This application is for persons seeking to learn the art of effective advocacy, not only for their own children but for others.
MFC's Advocacy Intern Training and Mentorship Program is an inclusive program and does not discriminate on the bases of race, color, national origin, age, religion, creed, disability, veteran’s status, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression. This is an unpaid voluntary program and we can only accept a certain number of interns per year given the personal time MFC will give each intern.
